Blog #7- Half-Way Reflection
I feel like I am learning a lot in this class. I think that technology in the classroom is a must. Especially after brainstorming about Internet uses in the classroom. I feel that even Imovie may be useable in our classrooms. I am not sure if it is necessarily the most important concept I have learned, but I really valued learning about spreadsheets. My skills regarding spreadsheets were extremely limited and now I have grasped the basic concepts of using it and I feel confident.

Mary, I agree with what you have said concerning learning a lot in this classroom and also the importance of technology. I think it is very important to try to be one step ahead especially when it comes down to us being future teachers. I am glad that spreadsheets are making more sense to you know and that they seem easier! :o)
I have the same opinion about technology in the classroom. It is completely beneficial to elementary students. I enjoyed imovie once it was over and done with and I was able to watch the finished project, and I feel that the younger children would enjoy it , but I think it would be a great group project. The spreadsheets were very helpful to me because I also have little experience and they made me feel less confident about my computer skills. But this class has helped comfort me a little.
I agree with you about learning about the spreadsheets. I have hated spreadsheets up until this class. Now I don't hate them I just prefer not to use them! Which is a big step for me. I think that if i were taught how to use a spreadsheet the way were in EDTL 303 during high school I would have been more fond of them. I can see where they would be very useful in the classroom and even for personal use when it comes to keeping track of finances. I also think that we have learned a great deal about internet resources and I think that this information will be very useful when we are teachers.
I feel like I am learning a lot as well but at times it is overshadowed by my frustrations. I thought the imovie project was okay. After a few hours of learnign how to do it, I think I got the basic grasp of it. Not sure I would ever use it again though. It is good to hear that you learned something from the spreadsheet assignment.
I loved making the iMovie even though I was completely stressed during the entire process. It has by far been my favorite project. It allowed me to take control of the lesson and be creative during the whole thing. I have felt slightly overwhelmed, but now that the semester is almost done I have a positive outlook for the rest of the semester.
